GAJAR KA HALWA

Grated carrot cooked in milk and garnished with nuts

INGREDIENTS

  • Carrot – 1 kg
  • Milk – 500 ml
  • Sugar – 100 gm
  • Khuwa – 100 gm
  • Ghee – 100 gm
  • Cashew nuts – 40 gm
  • Raisin – 40 gm
  • Gund – 20 gm

METHOD OF PREPARATION

  • First of all wash, peel, and grate the carrot.
  • Boil the milk.
  • Then add the grated carrot in milk , let it cook in slow heat.
  • Add the sugar when milk and carrot get reduced.
  • Knead the khuwa separately.
  • In a frying pan , add ghee to get heated.
  • Add gund to get fried properly.
  • Fry cashew nuts and raisins separately.
  • Then in a same pan of ghee, add khuwa to get cooked.
  • Then add it into the cooked carrot halwa.
  • Serve it hot, garnish with fried cashewnuts, raisin and gund.
